What is with all this iPod stuff? Well, as past visitors to the Pusey Family Christmas Website will recall, there usually is a gimmick involved. So part of it this year is an attempt to attract your attention with a ubiquitous tie to a 2005 pop culture icon. An icon that just happens to have been mentioned dozens of times by the Pusey kids this year. So sorry, kids, but the line is not changing and it appears that this whole “work for it” thing has gotten you no closer to owning an iPod. This virtual version is going to have to do.

Where do we start? 2005 for many in this world has been a horrific and trying 12 months. Our family has been blessed to be safe from war, terror, natural disasters and we are living in relative ease and prosperity.

We celebrated two milestone birthdays in 2005 -- Jenifer turning 39 for the second time and Lizzie turning 16 (and yes it was pretty Sweet). Jenifer took a couple of months to sort through the lies that got her to a complete and unexpected surprise party at our favorite Japanese restaurant. In Lizzie's case, she partied with 70 or so of her closest friends at our neighborhood clubhouse. Hint to any parents of 15 year old girls: keep control of the invitation process for the Sweet 16 Party.

We have four kids in four schools right now; Arianne (7) switched elementary schools and is thriving in her new situation in 2nd grade. As far as we know her stated goal to be an Olympic swimmer has not changed and she greatly enjoys her year-round workout and competition schedule.

Will (11) finished Cub Scouts with an impressive array of badges and his Arrow of Light and started with the Boy Scouts. He is the indispensable defensive specialist on his soccer team. But Will has everyone else jealous with is opportunity to attend the Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning for 6th grade. The link can tell about it better than us. Will loves the expeditions and field work and is working hard to adjust to a very new learning environment.

Harrison (13), despite any rumors to the contrary, is not taking human growth hormone. He is a human growth hormone. Passed mom this year (5'9"), and is well on his way to catching dad (6'3"). Harrison is finding time to keep up with the viola, basketball, swimming and a few computer games. He plans to begin work on his Eagle Scout project soon and reach that goal sometime in 2006.

As you may have guessed, Lizzie is entering the fun new world of automotive operational training. The license will come eventually; probably about the time we replace the clutch in our little training vehicle. Lizzie is amazingly dedicated to her academic pursuits and to the high school field hockey and track teams with a bit of A Cappella Choir thrown in for good measure.

Jenifer is the 24/7 CEO of this entire operation. She somehow found time to get certified as a USSA swimming official and to coach swimming in the summer for the Willow Creek Wahoos. Scott became the webmaster of that link you either just clicked on or will go back to.
